DeckedUSA & back rack

We decided to go with the Decked system for the back of the truck and built a custom rack system surrounding it to support the accessories above. Almost any of their systems will fit in the bed of a Kei truck, you just cant use the supplied surround system, it needs to be custom. We knew we wanted to fit out the drawers with some Overlanding gear, but at this time we were not sure what it would be. Click Here for the DECKED USA Site.

Once we placed the Decked drawers in the bed, a template was made to the contour of the box as well as the exterior dimensions of the bed of the truck. Typically, we will 3-D scan most objects, but since this was basic geometry, it was all done with a tape measure, and the templates were cut on a CNC router to confirm fitment.

Then we fabricated the back rack bar in place. This was a design on the fly situation and use the material that we had on hand

Once the rack was fabricated and painted, we fitted the side rails with marine grade plastic to mount our RotoPax accessories to. These panels were caught on the CNC router and pre-drilled encounter sunk. The screws are threaded into the steel structure.

Once we finalize the location of the deck drawer system, and our back rack was completely fastened in, the template was placed on top two and the dimensions of the post coming through the bed so we can make the proper cuts on the CNC router to the HDPE marine grade surrounds.
